Water Purification for Electrolysis
Recognizing that water quality is essential for efficient hydrogen production, Bosch has developed advanced water purification systems. These systems use thermal and electrochemical processes to remove impurities from water. Furthermore, for saline water sources, no external supply of chemicals is needed. This enables environmentally friendly hydrogen production virtually anywhere in the world.
PEM Electrolysis
Bosch has developed a highly efficient PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer stack, which is fundamental for green hydrogen production with renewable power sources. This 1.25 MW stack can produce up to 23 kg of hydrogen per hour at pressures exceeding 30 bar. Its compact design and high efficiency make it ideal for integration with renewable energy sources, enabling flexible and scalable hydrogen production.
Hydrogen in Mobility
In the mobility sector, Bosch offers an innovative Fuel Cell Power Module, which is at the heart of hydrogen propulsion for heavy-duty vehicles. This system combines the fuel cell with necessary subsystems for efficient electricity generation from hydrogen. With orders from truck manufacturers in Europe, the USA, and China, Bosch is actively contributing to the decarbonization of the transport sector. We offer individual subsystems for Fuel Cell operation in heavy-duty vehicles and passenger cars.
In the realm of hydrogen technologies, Bosch is also making significant strides in hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2 ICE). The company is developing advanced systems for both port and direct injection of hydrogen, with the latter allowing for improved efficiency by injecting hydrogen directly into the combustion chamber.
